About Us

John Hoyle

I'm John. I'm a Primary School teacher, writer and Doctor Who fan. When I was three years old, my Dad sat me down on his knee to watch the Daleks. He remembered what a thrill they'd been back in the sixties in colour on the big screen closer than ever before. He didn't understand the damage he was about to cause.

Doctor Who is a huge part of my life and sits happily on the dining room shelves next to my young family at teatime. I'm heavily involved in the Greater Manchester amateur drama scene, with many acting appearances at Playhouse 2, The Curtain Theatre and Millgate Arts Centre to my name. Last year, I won the Best New Writing Award for my play Trigonometry at the GM Fringe Festival. Currently, I teach children in Oldham and lead the teaching of English in the school.

Simon Haughton
I'm Simon. I teach Computing in a primary school and have spent just over a decade following the sci-fi adventures of The Doctor. I've always enjoyed travelling so when I saw a trailer promoting a 'new' TV series back in 2005 inviting me to go on a 'trip of a lifetime', I was immediately interested in watching and have been hooked on Doctor Who ever since. Through collecting Doctor Who Magazine, buying classic episodes on DVD and listening to Big Finish audios, I have become immersed in the Doctor Who universe and now consider it to be a great pastime.
